For customers looking for a compact, but reliable plasma cutter, the PowerPlasma 52i offers the latest in IGBT inverter design technology. The PowerPlasma 52i is the successor to the popular and long running PowerPlasma 50S series which brought affordability and performance to the plasma cutter market place and gave customers a real choice. Nothing has changed in that respect about the new PowerPlasma 52i.

The new PowerPlasma 52i has been completely redesigned though, offering full digital design, inside and out. This has reduced circuit complexity, and improved reliability. But it has also brought some new features which improve upon the solid platform of the PowerPlasma Series. The new addition of the air-pressure guide system, offers digital display of actual air-pressure along with a LED system that guides the operator to the best choice of air pressure for the mode being used.

This new setup also features a digital control over Post-Flow and gives the user the ability to see and set the actual post flow time with a digital readout. It can be adjusted for different duty and job requirements. The Post-Flow can be easily increased to preserve consumable life for those long, time consuming cuts. Or if you are doing rapid, short, or intermittent cuts, the Post-Flow time can be adjusted lower by just a quick twist of the dial.

The large digital displays are super bright, with improved visibility in bright conditions, making them easy to read at a distance. Adding to the already long list of improvements, the PowerPlasma 52i, now has a gouge feature and a separate mode for CNC use. The blow-back torch design features two pilot arc modes, one with continuous re-light for cutting expanded metal and for conditions where continuity is not ideal, and the other which features a tip saver function that limits pilot arc on time to preserve consumable life.

Dual Voltage 120/240V for maximum portability. Adjustable Post-Flow timer extends consumable and torch life. Large, Super bright digital displays for Amps, Air Pressure, and Post Flow. Digital Air Pressure Setting Guide adapts programming for different cutting modes.

Separate Gouge and CNC modes. Euro style "Central" quick connect torch adapter. Features the Italian designed "back striking" iPT 60 torch with improved cutting capacity and improved consumable life. Inexpensive consumables can usually be bought locally. 60% duty cycle is fit for commercial use. Clean cuts and less bevel with the iPT 60 torch and new digitally controlled cutting arc. Pilot arc tip saver feature limits pilot arc activity to 3 seconds. Continuous Pilot arc mode is standard as well. Can be used with 8500 watt clean power generators (less than 5% total harmonic distortion). Italian designed and patented iPT-60 torch with Euro quick-connect central adapter. Air pressure regulator/water trap (Separate air dryer is required to reduce consumable wear and prevent torch damage). Small CNC tables with 1/4 or less capacity is needed continuously. Anywhere Oxy Fuel cutting is impractical, slow, expensive, or otherwise restricted or undesirable. Virtually any metal including cast iron. Dual Voltage 120/240 1 Phase.

Maximum Rated (I1EFF) Input Amps. Duty Cycle At Rated Amps/Volts. 5.0 cfm or better with 25 gallon tank.

OK-to-Cut Indicator/Low Air pressure safety. When using the CNC port, with a plasma table, the unit should be limited to 40 amps which is the 100% duty cycle level of the machine if it is to be used continuously. A separate air dryer must be provided by the customer to prevent torch damage, and excessive consumable wear. The unit includes a regulator/water trap, but is not designed to remove all water or moisture.

Use a generator rated for 8500 surge watts if used on 240V. For 120V, a generator with a minimum of 4500 watts should be used. For use with 120V, the cutting tip (nozzle) must be changed to a smaller diameter nozzle for proper operation under 40 amps. Lowering air pressure will destabilize the arc. Minimum practical cut 24-28 gauge with standad cutting tips.

Plasma cutting capacity is affected by several factors. Ideal cutting conditions require dry air, new consumables, proper air pressure etc. Quality of cut depends upon consumable orifice size, standoff height, and travel speed. Reduce consumable orifice size for best quality cuts on thin metals. Minimum cutting gauge is virtually unlimited, but kerf will be too wide if standard cutting tips are used. For best results, use a smaller diameter orifice for lighter gauges. If there is damage, we can help file a damage claim immediately.
